Lesson 2 Reflection

1.What are you most proud of in your Lesson 2 Presentation and why?

I am proud of finishing with having said everything I had to explain about my senior project. I am proud that my activity was fun and engaged the audience as well as reflecting my 1st thesis sentence answer.

     b.     Explain why you deserve that grade using evidence from the Lesson 2 component contract.

           I feel like I deserve this grade because I made all the P Requisites. I had a nice and visible EQ poster with a flower arrangement and chocolate covered strawberries. I had an engaging activity which was related to my project and mentorship and gave insights to the audience on what I do at my mentorship on a daily basis. I know my speech was fast paced but I asked for reflections and the audience said they could still understand what I was saying.

3. What worked for you in your Lesson 2?

My activity and prezi where on theme of time and it was presented in an organized manner so the audience could follow along.

4. What didn't work? If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 2?

Talk slowly and take a few breaks.

5. What do you think your answer #2 is going to be?

Improve relationship between owner-manager and employees.

EQ / First Answer

EQ: How can a fruit and flower shop owner-manager best organize and grow her family business?

A1: Organize in-store operations effeciency to meet 1800flower expectations by providing quality products, accurate order processing, timely deliveries, timely notifications of deliveries and proper communication.

Blog 12: Mentorship 10 Hours Check

4. I had a constant routine at the stores. Every morning, I would help one of my mentors with setting up delivery routes and assigning deliveries. Then I would either work at Fruit shop or Flower shop. I would work small jobs either wrapping arrangements or designing arrangements, or simply washing fruits or flowers.

Blog 11: Holiday Project Update

Content:

1. I was at my mentorship for most of my break, working with my mentors because Christmas and the Holidays are our biggest times of the year.

2. The most important thing I learned was how to assign deliveries and organize routes when our store was packed with orders coming in. I learned this while working at the shop with my mentors.

3. For a 10 Question Interview I would talk to another owner-manager in the fruit and flower business affiliated with 1800Flowers.

Extra Post December: Holiday Feast!

This December marked our second year with fruitbouquets and our first year with 1800Flowers. My mentors and I had to prepare for Christmas week. Before the start of each day, we would assign the deliveries to each driver, since they all had specific cities. Employees were also scheduled to longer shifts and the store was running for longer hours than that of a regular work day.
Here are some orders that are produced and wrapped fresh to be delivered.

I went to mentorship during Thanksgiving week. We had created an assembly line for this arrangement to have maximum production. While an employee was making the chocolate covered apple for the face, another was cutting the fruit and preparing the fruit to be arranged into the basket.

Both of my mentors were very busy. Fariha was managing the packaging and organization of the fruit baskets while Ibrahim was managing the deliveries and drivers. I was helping both back and forth with packaging and printing the orders.

I'm thankful for my parents for this mentorship opportunity at our family business :)

Essential Question 
Once a topic is chosen, the student will develop a working essential question.  The purpose of the working essential question is to help the student build a strong foundation of research which will allow him or her to create an essential question that encourages depth and rigor in the chosen topic.  An essential question must:

• Provide a framework for studies (It calls for breadth and depth of research, Is not a yes/no question)
• Take a stance (It allows you to argue some point, Cannot be a recitation of facts or a list)
•  Format (It is specific, The wording makes sense)

 d.  How can an anesthesiologist best treat chronic pain?
Provides a framework for studies, but the studies would be very limited. It would not bring an in depth answer and has no argument or stance.

3.  Based on your review of the rule of 3 and your experience with assessing four EQs, please write another draft EQ for your senior project.  The senior team will be meeting with students shortly for EQ revision and approval; you are expected to bring your research notebook to that meeting with your EQ draft written inside in pencil.
